reorganization

    Hi all,

Sorry to post in english, but i am working in NL for an American Company. My question is, our company is doing a small re-organization and moving a small department out of the country. We have 450 employees working onsite, but the department which they are moving has only 3 employees. The ‘voorzitter’ says that we have no right to advice on this re-organization, becuase 3 employees have only a very small impact on the site. Our opinion, is that we should have the right to advice, becuase it shouldnt be about the number of employees, but the fact they are moving an entire department or function out of the country.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Feel free to answer in Dutch if you wish.

    Regards

You have the right for advise because there is a social inpact on the reorganisation.

This would mean that small departments are ‘vogelvrij’, so the OR defenitely has to stay on top of it. I agree that it is not about the number of people, it's about impact.

In our organisation a department of 3 people was recently closed. In spite of everything the OR gave a positive advice. We did, however, make sure that the employees got a proper ‘ontslagregeling’ and assistance in finding new jobs (inside or outside the organisation).

    Good luck,
